Unitarians to host holiday celebrations

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will offer the following holiday services this month to honor multiple faith traditions. All events are free and, except as noted, will be at the Goebel Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

“The Songs and Symbols of Christmas” will be led by Julie Crooks, the Fellowship Choir and other musicians at 10 a.m. Sun., Dec. 18 and followed by a boutique of donated items.

Christmas Eve services begin at 6 p.m. Sat., Dec. 24 with “Would You Like to Hold the Baby?,” an intergenerational pageant created by musician Joyce Poley that celebrates the spiritual truths and metaphorical beauty found in the nativity story. The service will close with a candlelighting ritual.

At 8 p.m. Sat., Dec. 24 will be a contemplative service on the theme of “Anticipation” at Temple Etz Chaim, 1080 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

At 10 a.m. Sun., Dec. 25, the Fellowship’s lay ministers will celebrate the miracle of Hanukkah in stories and music at an intergenerational service.
