Sacred candlelighting scheduled

The Westlake Church of Religious Science will celebrate December’s Season of Light with a candlelighting service at 7 p.m. Thurs., Dec. 22. Church pastors Dr. Sue Rubin and the Rev. Jim Lockard will be joined by the Westlake adult and junior Celebration of Life choirs and Westlake house band.

Caroling starts at 7 p.m., with the candlelighting service at 7:30 p.m. Hot spiced cider and ginger snaps will be served after the service.

Through word and music, the sacred traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Religious Science will be honored in ways that are in harmony with Universal Truth.

The Sunday “Celebration of Life” service is at 10 a.m. On Dec. 25, the sermon topic will be “The Birth of Spirit.” Preceding the service from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. is a prayerful “Time for Transformation.”
