“Knitting and Crocheting” is free to all senior center members. The program is designed for those who are interested in learning how to knit and crochet and presents the opportunity to meet new people and to socialize. Donation of yarn is always welcomed.

Participants are invited to help out by crocheting slippers, lap robes or other items that will be donated during the holiday season to veterans’ and nursing homes.

The Senior Recreation Program is also offering a “Current Events Discussion Group” that will meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd. Please call for specific dates.

This program is geared toward those who are interested in participating in an informal, in-depth discussion of current events affecting older adults both as citizens and as seniors. Paul Johnson will facilitate the program which will utilize videos, newspapers and handouts as materials and resources.

Participation in the Senior Recreation Program requires adults ages 50 and above to pay an annual $12 registration fee, which will enable them to enroll in any classes, activities, special events and excursions offered by the program.
