Local art dealer puts work on display
Limited, original arto be exhibited in Westlake Village beginning Dec. 17
Limited edition, original art pieces from Europe, Canada and the United States will be on display Dec. 17 at the Artagraphix art store in the Westlake Village Gelson’s Market Plaza. A variety of landscapes, abstracts, portraits and mission paintings will be on display from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the store, which has been in the community for the past 15 years. Art dealer Elliot Blinder bought the shop at 2806 Townsgate Road last year and has given it a bold new look. “We’ve remodeled, put in new picture windows, lighting, and all of a sudden people are noticing us,” Blinder said. The Dec. 17 event is being called a decorator “trunk show,” referring to past times when salesmen would show their wares to the public by opening a trunk for all to see. Best-selling artist Susan Hoehn will be among those on display during the trunk show. Currently, Artagraphix is offering all works from local artist Barbara Wood at 25-to-50 percent off. Wood has her “Thousand Oaks Collection” now on display. The T.O. resident specializes in female figures with art deco and impressionistic influences. The store also offers the bestselling romantic and figurative works of Argentine artist Fabian Perez. Also featured are the European cityscapes and landscapes of Leonard Wren, and a wide array of sports protraits from Michael Joseph. The store offers unique highend gift items as well, including limited edition Seattle and Correia hand-blown glass pieces. Customers who have their own art can take advantage of the store’s custom framing services. Products include both highquality, custom-made wood frames and ready-made photo frames. “People are amazed at the variety we have,” Blinder said. “There’s really something here for everybody.” Call (805) 496-4900 for more information, or visit www.artagraphix.com to see firsthand what the store has to offer. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. weekdays and Saturday until 5:30 p.m. |
