Agoura’s Glen Peterson is elected to state water agenc
Glen Peterson Glen Peterson, a Las Virgenes Municipal Water District board member and representative to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, was elected as vice president of the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA).
The election was conducted at ACWA’s annual conference, which this year was held in San Diego.
Peterson has chaired the ACWA Federal Affairs Committee since 2004 and is a board member on the National Water Resources Association.
He joined the water district in 1987 and has served as the representative to the Metropolitan Water District for more than 10 years.
ACWA is a state-wide association whose 440 members are responsible for approximately 90 percent of the water delivered in California. The organization, said a water district official, focuses on water supply issues and safe
uarding adequate drinking waer resources in California. Las Virgenes Municipal Water District serves approximately 65,000 people in the cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Westlake Village and some unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County.
