Voters objected to endorsement

The voters of Calabasas have responded to the editorial in The Acorn (Nov. 3) by voting a landslide no against Measure C on the November ballot.

The fact that the Malibu Valley Inn and Spa would be crowding the Las Virgenes Road and Mulholland Highway intersection with 2,000 more vehicles every day surely caught everyone’s attention. Not to speak of the destruction of 73 mature oak trees and the grading of open land that is the sacred trust of everyone in the area to preserve for our children and grandchildren.

What compelled the editors of The Acorn to reverse their editorial stand of 2004 opposing the inn and development is a mystery.

The voters on Nov. 8 gave their emphatic response. Mac McClain Calabasas
