Lecture will explore God’s intimate touch The Conejo Jewish Academy will host a lecture at 8 p.m. Mon.Dec. 5 at 30345 Canwood St.Agoura Hills featuring author and scientist Gerald L. SchroederPhD, speaking on “The Godly Fingerprints on the Human Body.” The Book of Genesis describes the creation of man as being made “in the image of God.” According to Rabbi Moshe Bryski of Chabad“the more one studies the mysteries and miracles of the human body and the perfection of its design, the closer one feels to the master creator of this perfection, to God. Join as we search for God’s fingerprints throughout our body.” Schroeder, author of numerous books on science and religion, recently made headlines throughout the world as one of those responsible for convincing Antony Flew, described as “one of the world’s leading atheists,” to become a believer in God. Flew credits Schroeder’s book “The Hidden Face of God” and subsequent conversations with Schroeder as being instrumental in this transformation. An MIT-trained scientist who has worked in both physics and biology, Schroeder has emerged in recent years as one of the most popular advocates for the melding of science and religion. In his books and lectures, Schroeder demonstrates how science provides positive reasons for faith. Research in biology, chemistry, physics and neuroscience contains unmistakable hints about the nature of reality, said Schroeder. The lecture is open to the public. Tickets are $10 advance purchase or $13 at the door. For reservations, call (818) 991-0991 or visit www.jewish academy.com. |
