See Native American art

Native American artists will display and sell their artwork from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun., Dec. 11 in the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa, a park site in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area in Newbury Park.

To entertain guests, Manny Saenz will play the flute. The origins of his musical style are in the Yoeme culture. The Yoeme/Yaqui tribes are from northern Mexico and the American Southwest.

There are numerous hiking trails to explore in the park, noted for its views of Boney Mountain. During the fall/winter months, its rambling green meadows are sprinkled with wildflowers.

Trails range from easy strolls to strenuous climbs and may lead to fern-fringed waterfalls or ocean vistas.
