Viewpoint collects eyeglasses for needy

CORE, the community service honor organization at Viewpoint School in Calabasas, will be collecting old eyeglasses to donate to persons who cannot afford glasses or contacts. Through Nov. 30, collection boxes will be available in local libraries and other community gathering places, and students may also solicit door-todoor. Viewpoint junior Brighton Ring, who has bad eyesight, began this project, “Brighton Your Word,” to help others who struggle to see. Collected glasses will be cleaned, categorized by prescription, and then shipped to Lions Clubs for distribution.
