Here’s to you, Ms. Robinson

Mr. Contis’s loyalty to his wife is admirable; however, his sarcastic attempt to avert blame for his wife’s actions to Ms. Robinson is misguided and mean spirited.

Ms. Contis may very well be a great community volunteer as her husband claims. Nonetheless, stealing property is stealing property, regardless of one’s intentions or motives. And to encourage minor children to participate in such activities only serves to compound the gravity of the situation. There is nothing silly, as in a practical joke, about stealing campaign signs from private property on the eve of an election.

In a world where few are willing to stand up and do the right thing, Ms. Robinson should be applauded for her display of good citizenship and protection of the right to free speech.

How dare Mr. Contis question Ms. Robinson’s good citizenship in a futile effort to overshadow his wife’s poor judgment and public embarrassment. The Contis need to assume responsibility for their behavior. Susan Morris Agoura Hills
