The Westlake Village Urgent Care Center will relocate from the Westlake Village Medical Center to a neighboring building by Sat., Dec. 31according to hospital officialsBecause a physician wilno longer be on site once the urgent care facility moves, the Los Robles Hospital cardiac rehabilitation center nexdoor—which is required always to have a doctor on call—must relocate to the Los Robles East Campus on Via Merida by year’s end, said DrSonia Devgan-Kacker, the urgent care center’s medical director.

The privately-owned urgent care center will move to 1220 La Venta Road in Westlake Village.

Los Robles CEO Jim Sherman said the physical therapy services at Westlake Village Medical Center will be moved out by March 2006.

The urgent care center is relocating because Los Robles’ parent company, Hospital Corporation of America, put the building up for sale last March.

“There are a couple parties that have expressed an interest, but we don’t have any official bids at this point in time,” Sherman said.

The city of Westlake Village was interested in buying the 73,000-square-foot medical center, but talks between the city and hospital officials have stalled in recent months.

The property is currently zoned public institutional, but the city can consider rezoning the 6.5-acre parcel if it receives a proposal.

Coldwell Banker/Richard Ellis in Sherman Oaks is brokering the sale for Hospital Corporation of America, the parent company of Los Robles Hospital.
