Simply Discount Furniture has opened a showroom in Agoura Hills offering top quality merchandise with specialized ordering and up to 70 percent savings off retail, according to Vic Asher, one of the company’s founders.

Asher, a longtime resident of Agoura Hills, and partner Don Garrison started the independent furniture store chain in North Hollywood in 1989.

In 1999, the two men opened a store in Santa Clarita, which later expanded to 60,000 square feet and became one of the largest retail stores in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The Agoura Hills Simply Discount Store is at 28714 Canwood St. Ste. 112.

Customer service is the company’s trademark.

“Since we began, our staff has been on salaray, not commission, so they can give the customer the attention they need no matter how large or how small the purchase is,” Asher said.

The store sells bedroom sets, entertainment units, mattresses, sofas, tables and more.

“Without our customer support through the years, we wouldn’t be here,” Asher said.

Items not in stock can be obtained quickly from the company’s large warehouse in Santa Clarita.
