Commuters who travel to the San Fernando Valley can now avoid the often gridlocked 101 Freeway and take the new Metro Orange Line, which was launched late last month.

The new bus line takes passengers to 13 stations, including Warner Center, De Soto, Pierce College, Tampa, Reseda, Balboa, Woodley, Sepulveda, Van Nuys, Woodman, Valley College, Laurel Canyon and North Hollywood.

The buses run about every six minutes during peak hours and every 12 minutes at all other times. In addition, the buses have their own dedicated roadway.

The closest stop for area residents is in Canoga Park at the Warner Center. Parking is available a few stops east at Pierce College.

Fares are the same as other MTA bus and rail lines.
