Try to keep the noise down

There is an alarming increase of those eardrum-shattering motorized scooters in our otherwise quieand peaceful community of Oak Park. As individual neighborhoods and together as a larger community, I believe that we can and should take appropriate actions to eradicate this noise-pollution nuisance.

I believe, however, that there is a bigger issue beyond the annoying and ear-piercing buzz of the scooters. The bigger issue is one of social responsibility and respecfor one’s neighbors and community. Where are the parents of the scooter-riding children? Do they not hear the noise or do they jusnot care? I urge the parents to teach their children a lesson about whait means to be a considerate neighbor and socially-responsible community member. Tom Bregman Oak Park
