Lowe’s environmental report out

The draft of the environmental impact report for the Lowe’s development was released to the public on Tuesday, Westlake Village city officials said.

Anyone wishing to view a copy of the document may do so at the Westlake Village City Hall at 31200 Oak Crest Drive or on the Internet at www.wlv.org.

The public will have 45 days to submit written comments on the report’s findings.

The project includes a 168,000square-foot Lowe’s home improvement store with an attached 31,000-square-foot garden center.

Rotkin Real Estate Group has submitted plans to develop an additional 62,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space on the property. The development will feature a 20,000-square-foot highend car dealership.

The 22-acre site being proposed for the Lowe’s is currently earmarked for 376,000 square-feet of office space.

Impact on traffic will likely be the leading concern for both the city council and Westlake residents.
