Whitehead and Iser get support for school board During the last four years, it’s been my pleasure as an Agoura Hills City Councilmember to work with the Las Virgenes Unified School District and its board. Gordon Whitehead and Cindy Iser, two incumbent members, have stood out in their ability to work cooperatively with the city and for students. Gordon Whitehead is a CPA whose financial skills have strengthened the school board during tough financial times. He’s a good listener and a clear thinker about what is best for kids. Gordon has been a leader of the board and the current president. He always hears both sides of an issue before deciding, and is compassionate and caring individual. Cindy Iser is an attorney who has been an activist for kids. Her legal skills have proven very useful to the board in avoiding legal pitfalls and planning for the future. She’s a proven champion for students and a dedicated advocate for improving education. Cindy was the driving force in bring the celebrated sober driving program “Every 15 Minutes” to LVUSD, which has been well received by students. Both Gordon and Cindy are candidates for reelection. They have served well and deserve another four years. Please join me in voting for them on Nov. 8. Denis Weber Agoura Hills City Council In these trying times when open communication and practical decision making is priceless, into the arena of candidates for Las Virgenes Unified School Board come two incumbents, Gordon Whitehead and Cindy Iser, both of whom have demonstrated their sound judgment and commitment to our students. Whitehead is a patient and understanding man who has had the practical experience of being a parent and has been very involved at many of the district schools. A CPA by profession, Whitehead’s financial and budgeting experience has helped our district through a very rough fiscal year. As co-project manager of Agoura High School’s “Every 15 Minutes” program, I also have had the pleasure of working directly with Iser for the past year. Her passion for the safety and well-being of our children is well demonstrated in the amount of time and energy she gave to both Calabasas and Agoura high schools in helping us bring this important program into our school district. Whitehead and Iser listen, hear and care. Please cast your votes for them. Jill Mortrell Willow Elementary School PFA |
