Single issue candidate

One should always be frightened of one issue candidates. You commend Todd August for “taking the race seriously” by using more money than all the other candidates combined. What you missed in last week’s profile is that almost all of his war chest for full-page ads and mailings came from out-of-the-city Heschel School supporters. His wife is the school’s treasurer.

There’s nothing wrong with his support for their school. I have never heard anyone opposed to it, just those who don’t like their proposed location and the millions they want the city to pay to solve their access problem.

The problem lies in their attempt to get enough votes on our city council to commit to this public funding of a private development. Phil Ramuno Agoura Hills
