Favors Koehler, Schwarz, Weber The voters of Agoura Hills are about to make a very important decision—they will “hire” three city council members. What traits do you look for when hiring for such an important job? Above all, I want people of unquestioned integrity. I look for a long track record of involvement in the community and its issues. I look at their past affiliations and what causes they have supported. I want to know their positions on topics such as open space, public safety and their vision of our city’s future. Are they committed to the successful policies of the past that require ongoing support, such as the removal of billboards and pole signs, the undergrounding of utilities and the improvements to our freeway interchanges? Who supports the candidate through campaign contributions— local residents, outside interests or development interests? Will they have good relationships with our neighboring cities and the school district? Harry Schwarz, Bill Koehler and Denis Weber will serve our city with integrity, honor and selfless leadership. Denis Weber has a 12 year track record that speaks for itself. Harry Schwarz and Bill Koehler have years of experience on the planning commission which is very important, given that many of the council’s decisions involve land use. As I retire from public office, I urge voters to support Harry, Bill and Denis to lead our city into the next four years. Jeff Reinhardt Agoura Hills City Council Save Open Space endorses Bill Koehler and Harry Schwarz for Agoura Hills City Council. Both Koehler and Schwarz have been active leaders in Agoura Hill’s homeowner organizations and they will best put Agoura Hill’s residents first. These two experienced candidates have best demonstrated a long term commitment to our unique “little city in the country” surrounded by open space and scenic ridgelines. Mary E. Wiesbrock Chair, Save Open Space/Santa Monica Mountains I’ve admired Bill Koehler for more than two decades as friend, colleague and neighbor as he has unselfishly served his community through his homeowner’s association and chairman of the planning commission for the city of Agoura Hills. I’m delighted that Bill is now willing to make himself available to serve on the city council where his keen intellect, sound decision making and basic fairness wills serve us well. Albert “Bud” Marley Agoura Hills I’ll be proud to be voting for Harry Schwarz on Nov. 8 for Agoura Hills City Council. Harry didn’t just show up out of nowhere, calling for “change.” He has a record of service to this community that long preceded his decision to offer his talents as a city councilmember. Harry was president of his homeowners association and worked closely with the city on various projects, including helping to beautify Kanan Road. He has been a steady presence on the planning commission, casting vote after vote to hold developers to the highest possible standard. As a city councilmember, we will be able to count on Harry to keep the city moving forward, but always putting quality of life first and foremost. I spent 16 years on the city council. So many of us who went before worked hard to prevent urban sprawl and traffic congestion, to keep crime low, to partner with our schools, and to set a long-term vision of a livable city that remains family friendly with a high level of services. Harry has proven his commitment to that vision. Louise Rishoff Agoura Hills As a Conejo Valley native and longtime resident of Agoura Hills, I’m pleased to endorse Bill Koehler for city council. I’ve known Bill for several years and have seen his ability as a practicing attorney and his service commitment to our community. The truth about Bill is that he shows up consistently, often when people aren’t watching. He’s a dedicate husband and father, an involved and helpful neighbor, an educated and successful businessman, and a voice of calm reason with a passion to serve. With Bill Koehler, the passion to serve is not about ego; it’s about doing the work. Bill has already worked to understand, improve and protect our city. I trust him to be a vigilant council member. Vote for Koehler on Nov. 8. Blaze M. McDade Agoura Hills |
