No auto mall for Agoura Hills

It was with a chuckle that I read Ira Cohen’s letter in which he bemoans he was forced to drive all the way to Calabasas to purchase his automobile.

It might surprise Mr. Cohen to learn how many of our citizens prefer Agoura semi-rural and primarily residential. When one can elect to live anywhere from Studio city to Calabasas and have auto dealerships, I must question why Mr. Cohen chose to live here in the first place.

We have hear much bashing of furniture stores along the freeway frontage, but these stores support our tax base handsomely while essentially generating no traffic and have no peak traffic hours, nor do they require excessive lighting at night.

I trust the well thought out Agoura Village concept will provide much of what Mr. Cohen, a supporter of Todd August, is longing for. However, my vision for Agoura does not include beautifying it with an auto mall.
