Century 21 HilltopLaCarre sales associate Laurie Allen recently received an unanticipated thank you letter from the principal of a Simi Valley elementary school, after Allen volunteered to help raise $1,000 for the campus.

“The staff and students here at Berylwood would like to express their thanks for the generous donation of $1,000 to our school,” wrote Nancy Mason, principal of Berylwood Elementary School, in a Sept. 30 letter to Allen. “The money will be well spent in helping our students achieve their goal of learning. With the staff and school having limited funds, you can well imagine how much we appreciate your financial help.”

Allen sponsored a Sept. 10 garage sale to benefit the school, and then worked to help raise a total of $1,000 for the campus at 2300 Heywood Ave.

“Once again, thank you ever so much for everything you do for Berylwood,” Mason concluded in her letter.

“Our sales associates take pride in their involvement in the communities they serve, and Allen showed leadership by stepping up for Berylwood Elementary,” said Chris Lev, manager with Century 21 Hilltop-LaCarre.
