Yes on Measure C

I am a Calabasas mother with young children. It is shocking to me that anyone who already waits in the lines to drop off and pick up their children at our local schools would even contemplate not voting yes on Measure C, the Malibu Valley Inn and Spa inititative.

The environmental impact report shows that if the inn and spa is not approved, the 81-lot subdivision that will be built in its place will add 96 children to our already overcrowded classrooms, taking valuable teacher attention away from our kids and making the waits at the school even longerBoth the inn and spa and the subdivision will require the payment of approximately the same amount of fees to the Las Virgenes School District. However, the inn and spa will only increase our student body by six students, 90 students less than the housing project. By voting yes for the inn and spa, our schools will receive all the money and only 7 percent of the students. How could anyone ask for more?

In addition, the inn and spa will provide our schools with the use of an Olympic-size swimming pool for championship meets, tennis courts for matches, equestrian studies classes, agricultural classes and hotel management classes. It will provide summer campspermanent careers and local after-school jobs for our kids.

Think of our children. Tell them they matter. Vote yes on Measure C. Tiffany Antoci Calabasas
