Chabad to host lively Simchat Torah festivities

Chabad of the Conejo will celebrate the holidays of Sukkot and Simchat Torah with services, festivals and Hakafot dancing through Wed., Oct. 26.

The Bible refers to this holiday time as the Season of Rejoicing. In the times of the Temple, the nights of Sukkot were dedicated to all-night festivities which included juggling acts performed by the Sages of Israel and other feats of skill.

The festive Simchat Torah dancing will be 7 p.m. Tues., Oct. 25 at the following locations: Chabad of Agoura Hills, 30345 Canwood St.; Chabad of Westlake Village, 2524 Townsgate Road; Chabad of Oak Park, 5998 Conifer St.; and Chabad of Thousand Oaks, 2060 Avenida de los Arboles, Ste. 1.

The last portion of the Torah will be read on Wed., Oct. 26 and will immediately be followed by the reading of Genesis.

There will be dancing with the Torah, refreshments and flags for all children.

For a schedule of all holiday services, call (818) 991-0991.
