Agoura Hills offers activities for public

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services is offering a class titled “Navigate the Internet” from 11 a.m. to noon Thursdays, Nov. 3 through Dec. 1 at the Agoura Hills Library. Participants must have a valid library card. The fee is $60.

The class will teach novice computer users how to surf the Internet, use links, bookmarks and search engines and will also introduce them to e-mailing.

Members of the Agoura Hills Senior Center are invited to participate in the following excursions. Nonmembers wishing to participate may join the program for an annual $12 fee (for ages 50 and up).

At 8 a.m. Thurs., Nov. 10 there will be a trip to Oak Glen, near Yucaipa, returning about 6:30 p.m. The bus will depart from the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd. The trip fee is $54.

Seniors will tour the Graber Olive House and view the curing and canning of olives. There will be time for lunch and shopping. Following lunch the group will visit to Parrish Ranch to browse the many apple specialties.

At 9:30 a.m. Tues., Nov. 22 the Agoura Hills Senior Center will take an excursion to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, including a tour of Air Force One and a viewing of the new holiday exhibit of Christmas trees and menorahs from around the world. Following lunch at Pat and Oscar’s there will be a docent-led tour of Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks.

The bus will depart from the Agoura Hills Recreation Center and return about 3 p.m. The cost is $27 and participants pay for their own lunch.
