Opposed to Inn and Spa

I am not anti-development, but the Malibu Valley Inn and Spa is something I don’t want to see.

The last straw for me was the developer suing Mary Hubbard for writing the negative comments for the ballot. The judge upheld her statement with very minor changes—a “may” in the cost of road construction and remove the Las Virgenes Homeowners Federation from the endorsements.

The whole ballot measure is misleading. It is very possible that Calabasas residents will think they are voting to approve the project.

It is not legal for a city to annex land for the sole purpose of changing the zoning or restrictions on building. The North Area Plan makes this development not possible if it remains in the unincorporated area of L.A. county, so annexation has to occur in order for this development to happen.

The developer does not have Coastal Commission approval to build 81 homes.

No on this ballot measure. Richard Lague Calabasas
