A big thank you

As the fires blazed through Oak Park, Simi Valley and the west San Fernando Valley last week, firefighters from all over the state came to our rescue. I would like to thank the Ventura and Los Angeles County firefighters for their tireless efforts to control the fires and protect our homes.

Another big thanks goes to Harvey Kern and Brett Garrett, editor and founder of www. oakparkupdate.com. This site is a tremendous information tool for residents. During the fires last week, Harvey continually updated the site with the most upto-date information coming directly from Linda Parks and the firefighters. Not only do we owe the firefighters a great deal of gratitude for a job so well done, but we owe Harvey an incredible “thank you” for keeping us all so well informed even as he was evacuated.
