Calabasas murder suspect dies

By Daniel Wolowicz danielw@theacorn.com

Auresh Sahebi, a Calabasas resident suspected of murdering his girlfriend, died on Fri., Sept. 30 from injuries he sustained in a car crash, authorities said.

Police believe Sahebi crashed his black Mercedes into a retaining wall in front of St. Jude Catholic Church in Westlake Village on Sat., Sept. 24 in an apparent suicide attempt.

Sahebi, 22, is the lead suspect in the murder of his girlfriend, Jocelyn Nicole Juriansz, 29, who was found dead in her Venice, Calif. apartment the same day Sahebi crashed his car, police said.

Detective Joe Lumbreras with the Los Angles Police Department said that with Sahebi’s death, the murder investigation will soon come to a close.

“At this time, we have no reason to suspect anyone else,” Lumbreras said.

Items found in Sahebi’s black Mercedes offer additional evidence that Sahebi killed Juriansz, police said. In addition, authorities say they found Sahebi’s cellphone at Juriansz’s apartment.

Sahebi did not leave behind a suicide note, but according to the police, he had spoken to a friend before the murder and said he was having relationship problems with his girlfriend and felt suicidal.

Police said there were no previous reports of domestic violence between Sahebi and Juriansz.

Authorities would not comment as to how Juriansz was murdered.
