Strong start for Renegade soccer team

The Apex Renegades, a Girls Under-15 soccer club from Ventura County, won its first league game in the Coast Soccer League by a score of 5-0.

The Renegades had previously reached the finals in a preseason tournament at Temecula. In their second tournament in Santa Barbara, the Renegades won their first two games before losing to the eventual tournament champion.

This past weekend, in a game against the AVSC Ambush, Apex played to a 3-3 tie. Goals were scored by Julianne Hoehn, Becky Wong and Allie Yaldezian.

In Sunday’s game against Crescenta Valley SC, they won 2-0, with goals by Jennifer Jones and Becky Wong.

“I am pleased at how well the girls have been playing. Their hard work is paying off,” coach John Yaldezian said.

Members of the team are: Amanda Albi, Taylor Barrett, Haley Bright, Molly Case, Julie Felberg, Lyndsay Guttchen, Julianne Hoehn, Lauren Iezza, Jennifer Jones, Taylor Lew, Catherine Maleki, Jacqueline Morse, Becky Wong and Allie Yaldezian.
