Casino Night to benefit Hospice of Conejo

A benefit for Hospice of the Conejo with a “Las Vegas Cool” theme will be presented from 7:30 p.m. to midnight Sun., Oct. 9 at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, featuring showgirls, music, fun, food and Las Vegas games.

The Boogie Knights disco band will be featured in the lounge. Chris DePalma will perform magical illusions throughout the casino, which will feature blackjack, craps and roulette. The Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament is “for anyone who enjoys a good hand,” according to benefit organizers.

Admission is $50, which includes $5,000 gambling money, an all-you-can-eat Las Vegas-style buffet provided by local restaurants and caterers including Atis Catering & Personal Chefs, Bellavino, Borderline Bar & Grill, Claim Jumper, Melting Pot, Merlin’s Kitchen, Outback Steakhouse, Pierre’s Catering, Plug Nickel, Qdoba, Serendipity Cheesecakes, Sisley Italian Kitchen and The Landing Grill and Sushi Bar.

There will be wine, beer, Appletini, margaritas and S. Guaro bars. Guests may catch a glimpse of Elvis or renew their vows at the Chapel of Love. Additional games of chance include Let It Ride and Bingo. The Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament in the second level VIP Lounge has limited seating and preregistration is recommended by emailing games@lasvegascool.org.

Established in 1977, Hospice of the Conejo, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves the communities of Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Newbury Park, Moorpark and Simi Valley.

Hospice is a team of caring people dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and to their families. Hospice focuses on helping people during the final stages of life.

They have programs and support groups designed for youths, seniors, sudden and tragic loss, infant loss for parents and Pathways for those who are not ready for traditional hospice care.

Hospice is funded entirely through donations and grants. Patients and their families are not charged for the services provided.
