‘Volvo for Life Days’ to benefit hospitals

Two area Volvo car dealerships will be participating in an event to help raise funds to fight pediatric cancer from Sat., Oct. 8 through Sun., Oct. 16.

The “Volvo for Life Days” is a nationwide event devoted to raising money for local children’s hospitals in addition to Alex’s Lemonade Stand—a national pediatric cancer research charity that raises funds through lemonade stands and was the inspiration of Alexandra Scott, a cancer patient who passed away at age 8 in 2004.

The participating dealerships are Calabasas Volvo and Neftin Westlake Volvo.

The dealerships invite Conejo Valley residents to visit their facilities to test drive any 2006 model Volvo car. For every test drive taken, they will donate $20 on behalf of the driver to charity. The designated charity is Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Blood Donor Center.

While visiting the dealerships, residents may buy cups of lemonade from Alex’s Lemonade Stands operating on site.

Funds raised during the event will be divided between Childrens Hospital and Alex’s Lemonade Stands.
