Heschel impacts are too great

The real questions regarding the advisability of building Heschel is not whether the school would be an asset to our community. I am sure it would be.

The number one and insurmountable problem is there is no way to handle the vehicular traffic in the confined area available. Right now, without any project of this magnitude, the morning and evening traffic problems are already severe. Anyone who could possibly say another 3,000 car trips a day in this area will work hasn’t studied the situation at all. It won’t work.

Another factor that needs to be considered now is CalTrans is going to start construction on the Kanan/Freeway bridge and accessway problems. Everybody who drives a car knows these projects take at least a year and usually more to complete. Because Chesebro off-ramp and Driver Avenue are closest to the Valley and Los Angeles, they are going to be impacted the most by thousands of cars about the same time the Heschel parents and busses would arrive.

The only real solution would be building a new off-ramp off the 101 between Lost Hills and Chesebro. Thom Bancroft Agoura Hills
