BUSHY-TAILED ENVIRONMENTALIST—Jean and Kenneth Thompson of Thousand Oaks made friends with this Squirrel of the Month last fall when it developed an interest in their large Halloween pumpkin. Over many days, the squirrel munched on it. The Thompsons eventually moved the pumpkin to the back portion of their half-acre yard. Between the squirrel and Mother Nature, the pumpkin literally disappeared showing that, indeed, squirrels actively support recycling. Don’t wait for Halloween; send your Squirrel of the Month photograph to the address on page 4.
