Time for August

I moved to Agoura Hills 16 years ago for the same reasons that motivated many of you to move here: open space, good schools and a warm, community feel. I love our city and I am proud to call Agoura Hills my home.

Over the last few years, however, I have begun to have concerns about the future of our home town. While our neighbors to the east and west appear to have plans on how to develop their cities, Agoura Hills does not. Basic city issues such as traffic, appearance and amenities seem to take decades to address, if they are addressed at all. Our schools are becoming overcrowded and yet our city offers no help. At times it seems as though our city council is constantly fighting with everyone.

I am hopeful that new leaders will emerge who have the skill, dedication and vision to lead this city. For these reason I am supporting Todd August for Agoura Hills City Council.

Todd August has the skill to lead Agoura Hills. As the chief administrator of the UCLA Department of Economics, Todd already manages a budget four times the size of Agoura Hills with the transparency and honesty that should be expected of anyone who manages public money. Todd already understand how to manage competing constituencies in a professional manner that breeds cooperation and not conflict. He has a vision of how a small city can be successful in the coming decades.

I hope you will join me in supporting Todd August this November. Let’s put real leadership on our city council. Jay Lewitt Agoura Hills
