Support the Inn and Spa

Please join us in our effort to bring the Malibu Valley Inn & Spa to our community. The Inn & Spa will offer both the community and visitors alike a full-service equestrian facility, tennis and swim club, spa and fitness club, winery offering demonstration, winemaking and tasting classes, fine dining and access to nearby hiking, biking and riding trails in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

The Inn & Spa complements the North Areas Plan’s policies and goals, which states that public recreation areas need to be supported by “compatible commercial recreation uses, such as resorts, lodgings and equestrian facilities.”

Additionally, the Inn & Spa is proposed as an alternative to an 81lot subdivision which has already been approved by the county of Los Angeles. If the Inn & Spa is not permitted, the already-approved estate lots, each around 10,000 square feet plus garages, will be built on 443 acres along Mulholland Highway and Stokes Canyon. The houses will require several times the grading that the Inn & Spa will need.

Finally, the Inn & Spa will provide approximately $25 million in revenue to the city of Calabasas in its first 10 years of operation. It will provide careers and summer jobs for our kids as well as instructional programs in winemaking, horse husbandry and resort management. These benefits will not be created if houses are built instead.
