Heschel error

Your article last week regarding Heschel School erroneously stated that I am a resident of Old Agoura. In fact, I am a resident of Liberty Canyon and my HOA is also opposed to Heschel. It is patently unfair to give the impression that this is simply “an Old Agoura issue.”

To read that article and editorial, one would get the impression that Heschel has approval to proceed. Nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact, there are a long list of conditions they will have to complete in order to even think about breaking ground, not the least of which is access and that alone is years away.

Furthermore, the Los Angeles Regional Planning Commission may very well have broken the law by signing off on an environmental impact report that contains little or no specifics concerning methods of mitigation. “We promise to mitigate noise, traffic, lights, etc.” How ya going to do that?” “We’ll get back to ya on that.”

The editorial was even more absurd, comparing Heschel, in the lap of Old Agoura and directly adjacent to state park land, to “furniture stores” along freeway frontage, which basically have little or no impact on Old Agoura. Larry Brown Agoura Hills
