Boudreau myth debunked

So many things have been written about my brother, Brian Boudreau, that I feel the need to respond in public.

My brother, sister and I grew up in Calabasas and we love it so much we are all still here. I remember spending time with my father on the farm when I was little and I smile every time I see Brian with his daughters at the equestrian center.

My father intended to build 81 houses on 450 acres of land and he got approvals from the county to do so. Brian never wanted to construct houses; he always preferred horses to houses and is proposing the Malibu Valley Inn & Spa instead, saving 300 acres of open space, land that will otherwise have houses on it.

Many negative comments have been made about my brother, even claiming he brought a lawsuit challenging the truthfulness of Mary Hubbard’s opposition ballot statement with the sole intent of intimidating her. That’s ridiculous. He filed the lawsuit because what she wrote was false and misleading and the judge agreed.

On Sept. 15, Brian prevailed in court. Mary Hubbard may voice her opinion, just as anyone may, but what she wrote was false and claimed as fact, not opinion. Ms. Hubbard stated in The Acorn that she researched her facts and was bringing that information to the public, but it wasn’t truthful information and the judge has said as much.

Brian Boudreau is proposing to bring this amazing Inn & Spa to his community—our community. The Inn will offer education and job opportunities for our children and millions in revenue to the city, while providing 300 acres of open space.

Please learn the facts and you will agree that the Inn & Spa is right for our community.
