Oncology walk team to help victims of Katrina On Sun., Sept. 25 starting at 5 p.m., the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will host “Light the Night Walk” at Warner Center Park in Woodland Hills. Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center Oncology nurses will participate in this special walk and have formed the Oncology Care Walk Team, which now has 40 members. All proceeds from the walk will go to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. “We are walking to honor those who have been affected by blood cancer and to celebrate the survivors,” said Connie Pamintuan, RN, Nurse Manager of Oncology at Encino-Tarzana. “We are also walking to show our continued support, dedication and commitment to our patients, their families and loved ones, and to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society whose outstanding work keeps the hope alive,” Pamintuan said.
