Help plan your local trails

The National Park Service, California State Parks, and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy invite the public’s participation in planning for the upcoming Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Interagency Trail Management Plan (TMP).

The study focus on conceptual trail map alternatives for the TMP’s joint environmental impact report. The information that the agencies gather from the public will be used to help complete the report.

There are a number of ways to participate: attend the scheduled meetings; view maps/graphics at the National Park Service Visitor Center between Oct. 1 and17; and view maps/graphics online at www.nps.gov/samo/trails.

The public meetings will take place at the following places:

From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mon., Sept. 26 at Las Virgenes Municipal Water District headquarters, 4232 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas; and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 29 at National Park Service headquarters, 401 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
