City offers cell phone disposal

Cellular phones contain toxic materials and local officals want to make sure that when the old phones are discarded, they’re done so properly.

The city of Calabasas is now offering 11 locations where old cell phones can be thrown away without harming the environment.

Designated cell phone collection sites include the following:

Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center, 27040 Malibu Hills Road

Albertson’s, 26521 Agoura Road

Calabasas High School, 22855 West Mulholland Hwy.

Calabasas Library, 23975 Park Sorrento

Calabasas City Hall, 26135 Mureau Road

Creekside Preschool, 3655 Old Topanga Canyon Road

De Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road

Gelson’s Shopping Center, 22277 Mulholland Hwy.

Los Angeles County One Stop Center, 26600 Agoura Road

Ralphs, 4754 Commons WayCalabasas Tennis and Swim Center, 23400 Park Sorrento
