Local students receive college honors

The following local students recently received degrees or academic honors from their respective colleges.

Rebecca Lee Grimstead of Thousand Oaks, a sophomore at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Penn., has been placed on the dean’s honor list for spring semester for earning a quality point average of 3.60 or higher.

Simran Vahali of Calabasas, daughter of Mokshinder and Renu Singh Vahali, was named to the dean’s list of Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University, Atlanta, Ga., for the spring semester. Students must be in the top 20 percent or have a 3.825 grade point average for this honor.

Tamara Gishri of Calabasas, daughter of Gail Lynn Hughes of Calabasas and Rafael Gishri of Palos Verdes, received a bachelor’s in business administration from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., at its 160th commencement ceremony in May.

Robert Brown of Calabasas received a bachelor’s of arts in business from Lake Forest College, Lake Forest, Ill. Brown is a graduate of Viewpoint School in Calabasas.
