Mormon choir to perform in Thousand Oaks The Southern California Mormon Choir will perform in a free concert at 7 p.m. Sat., July 23 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Thousand Oaks Stake Center, 1600 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks. The event is open to the community. The choir is a 120-voice choral ensemble organized under the auspices of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since its formation in 1953, the choir has been performing concerts of classical, sacred, folk, patriotic and popular choral music throughout Southern California. Choir director J. Frank Turner is a Newbury Park resident. He also teaches music at Santa Monica City College. |
