Marijuana plants found in Newbury Park


BUSTED—Law  enforce ment officials remove over

$1.5-million  worth  of  mari juana plants from a ravine

bordering  the  Arroyo

Conejo  Creek  in  Newbury

Park  last  Friday.  The  de struction  of  the 798 plants

marks Ventura County’s first

large pot bust this year. Of ficers  apprehended  Ser vando Ponce Villa, 22, and

booked him on suspicion of

illegal  cultivation  of  mari juana. They are still looking

for a second suspect.
