Store destroys Westlake Village sense of community

This letter is in opposition to your opinion article regarding Lowe’s coming to Westlake Village. The writer seems to pose a problem and then answer it negatively.

Regarding traffic: Can approximately 2,000 cars going and coming on the freeway be ignored? There are two main 101 freeway exits into Westlake Village. One of them, Lindero Canyon, would be completely gridlocked by traffic by Costco, Murdock’s Hotel complex development and a Lowe’s big box. Can your opinion writer squirm out of that one?

How many of the minimum wage employees at Lowe’s will be able to live in the half-million dollar (average priced) homes here? Are there any available apartments in their price range? Of course not!

Does deep-pocketed Westlake Village need extra tax revenues?

No!

All of the arguments for a Lowe’s prove empty and destructive for the lovely community of Westlake Village. Gerry Minas Westlake Village
