Calabasas doesn’t need inn and spa

After reading the letter from Brian Cameron and Deirdre Waitt-Mendoza in the June 23 Acorn supporting the Malibu Valley Inn project, I couldn’t help but think they’re in some way connected to the owner-developer. I don’t know of one person that supports this project or the 80 homes the owner promises to build if his inn doesn’t get approved.

I praise the Santa Monica Conservancy, as well as our city of Calabasas and neighboring cities of Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks, for acquiring the funds to purchase Ahmanson Ranch and most recently Soka University. Now we need to join forces again and stop this money-hungry developer from building this inn. It would be a catastrophe for the environment and the community.

A building moratorium that extends from Calabasas to Agoura is long overdue. We need to act now before the greed of developers threatens our rolling hills and quality of life, not to mention the remaining wildlife we have left. Brett Woodmansee Calabasas
