Outstanding CHS seniors
Adam
Wagermeister
According to Calabasas
graduate Adam Wagermeister,
balance is the key to life. But
Adam doesn’t focus just on academics, even though he holds a
4.25 grade point average. And
he’s not all about baseball, even
though he’s been playing the
game since he was 3 and has
earned many awards.
Adam volunteers at the
Ronald McDonald House program and he’s the treasurer of the
school’s Interact club, Rotary
International’s public service club
for young people. He’s a member of the Calabasas Teen Activities Council, which provides
events for youth to keep them out
of trouble.
Adam plans to attend USC
with hopes of being a surgeon.
But don’t be surprised if he tries
to tackle politics some day. For
Adam Wagermeister, the sky’s the
limit.
Natalie Vernia
Natalie Vernia said if her life
were a movie, the soundtrack
would include the song “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child because
she never gives up on any of her
goals.
The CHS graduate has a 4.4
grade point average. She’s in the
math club and on the peer support team. She’s a top player on
the girls’ basketball team and received a music award from the
National Guild for Piano. And
Natalie is trilingual.
Natalie plans to attend Caltech
in Pasadena to study applied math
and business. Future students
might even see Natalie Vernia as
their math professor, but don’t be
surprised if she also makes the
business journals one day as corporate executive of the year.
Brittany Lin
Brittany Lin says she’s not
one to sit around and allow
people to be treated unfairly. She
believes she can make a difference in the world and it looks like
she’s well on her way.
Brittany is the president of
both the Calabasas High student
body and Interact club, Rotary
International’s public service
club for young people.
She was instrumental in revitalizing the Calabasas Teen Activities Council, which provides
events for youth to keep them out
of trouble.
Brittany plays volleyball,
runs track and has a 4.3 grade
point average. Calabasas named
her the city’s 2003 Student of the
Year.
Brittany was accepted into
Harvard and hopes to follow with
a law school and then go into
public service.
