At 3:30 p.m. Thurs., June 30 the
Calabasas library will present a program to youth ages 12 and older to
learn about the customs and traditions of Japan and origami art. Refreshments will be served.
The Calabasas Library will
present its 2005 Summer Reading
Program for children of all ages. Participants will read books and receive
incentives every week.
Special events for students in kindergarten through fifth grade will be
at 4 p.m. Wednesdays at the library,
23975 Park Sorrento, Calabasas. The
programs include Shawn McMaster:
Magic and Mayhem on July 6, Alligator Al and his reptiles on July 13,
Katy Rydell the Storyteller on July
20, Brother Yusef the Bluesman
Musician on Aug. 3 and Charlie
Miller will tell tales of heroes on Aug.
10. The Beagle Brigade from the U.S.
Department of Agriculture will appear at 2 p.m. on July 27.
Free tickets are required to attend
the shows, with a limit of four tickets
per family. A library card is required
to pick up tickets. Tickets will be
available starting Thurs., June 23 for
the July 6 and 13 shows, starting
Thurs., July 7 for the July 20 and 27
shows and starting Thurs., July 21 for
the August shows.
