TGIF means family fun

It’s Friday. It’s been a long week. You’re too tired to cook and not quite sure what to do with the kids.

Don’t worry about a thing. The city of Westlake Village has got you covered.

In its second season, the city’s TGIF series of summertime events at the Westlake Village Civic Center offers a place for residents to have a good meal at a fair price while also enjoying an evening of entertainment. All events are free and begin at 6 p.m.

Next up in the series, Shakespeare comes to Westlake Village on July 8 with a performance of the classic play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Dust off your poodle skirts and ’54 Fords, because on July 22 the city will screen the be-bop-flick “Grease” on an enormous outdoor screen. Classic car owners are encouraged to come out and enjoy burgers and fries from In-N-Out Burger.

Abracadabra is the magic word for August 12 when magician Tony Daniels will perform his spell-binding act. Pizza and Cold Stone ice cream will be served.

Pack a picnic basket and get ready to rock with British Invasion, a Beatle cover band, at Berniece Bennett Park on August 12.
