Summer music program opens

Students entering grades one through eight can join “Music Alive in 2005,” the summer musical arts program at the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, 1049 S.

Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

Students will play a variety of orchestra instruments, made possible by the New West Symphony’s Music Van program. The program includes singing, handbell and choir chime-ringing, choreographed movement and music enrichment.

The camp will meet 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mon., Aug. 8 through Thurs., Aug.

11 and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a 7 p.m.

celebration performance for family and friends on Fri., Aug. 12.

Tuition is $100 with a $5 discount given for siblings. That includes a $20 nonrefundable application fee. Ten dollar discount applies to applications and payments received by Sun., June 5. Extended day care is available.

Limited scholarship assistance is available. A waiting list will be started when maximum enrollment of 120 children is reached.
