Outreach program for women teaches service skills

The Sisters of Notre Dame of the four American provinces are sponsoring a unique volunteer program this summer.

Single women between the ages of 18 and 40 are invited to participate in a week-long program of outreach, ministering with those in need. Participants will enlarge their vision of Jesus and his mission as they enhance their service skills, experience a supportive community life with the sisters and reflect prayerfully on their experiences.

The range of opportunities include a July 15 to 21 mission in Los Angles with tutoring homeless children and working with Habitat for Humanity.

Other programs will be in Ohio and Kentucky.

According to Sr. M. Judeen Julier, this is an important way that young women can experience the Sisters of Notre Dame spirituality, life and ministry in action.
