Gan Israel Day Camp offers July, August sessions

Gan Israel Day Camp of Agoura Hills offers programs of sports, drama, martial arts, Red Cross-supervised swimming, field trips, arts and crafts as well as Jewish Heritage Time for boys and girls ages 5 to 13. Two sessions will be offered this summer, from July 1 to 29, and from Aug. 1 to 19. Partial scholarships are available.

The program runs from 9 a.m.

to 4 p.m. daily, although 3-day per week programs are also offered.

Highlights include trips to Disneyland, Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm. Additional special activities include roller skating, ice skating, miniature golf, bowling and a harbor cruise.

The Gan Israel network of day camps is the largest network of Jewish camping in the world. Children are divided into age groups and guided by experienced counselors.

Effort is made to encourage creativity and growth among campers, according to camp director Yisroel Levine.

“The camp succeeds in doing exactly what any Jewish parent would want a Jewish camp to do— make Judaism fun,” said radio personality Dennis Prager, whose son attends the camp.
