Red Oak to host carnival Red Oak Elementary School will host a family-oriented carnival 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., June 5 at the school, 4857 Rockfield St., Oak Park. Attractions include water slides, train ride, arts and crafts, jolly bounce, race cars, obstacle course, games and food. All proceeds from the carnivalwill benefit the school’s fundraising program. Admission is free. Students sought for healthcare program Students entering their senior year of high school this fall who are interested in a health care career are invited to participate in the Kaiser Permanente Continuing Care Palliative-Hospice Care Program. The six students selected for the six-week program will gain experience from health care professionals while learning about palliative care, hospice care, social work and spiritual care in the HMO setting. The program will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays, July 7 through Aug. 11.
